First of all, I hope Summer is treating you oh so well! I know Summer dearest is being good to me.
Second of all, I hope you are finding happiness daily. Even on sad days/hard days/depressed days/lazy days/frustrating days/anxious days, I hope you find even a speck of glitter of happiness--if not a whole vial full!--because, darling, you DESERVE it.
It's still sometimes difficult to find that happiness, and I've had my days of drowning in my own pity that, let's be honest, can be a waste of time! So I took some advice from squadling and Cookie of the Month Mary England (uncustomary.org) and her fabulous post on the Self-Love Bible and began a happiness journal!
- collect scraps of papers from your life and tape them into your happiness journal (this is where washi tape comes in handy!)
- draw/doodle/paint your happiness
- include quotes that made you laugh or make you feel
- record your happiness as lists or anecdotes or poetry
- make little pockets using small envelopes or by folding your own paper
- do NOT be afraid to mess up; this does not have to be a "perfect" place; I feel like my own happiness journal is art and art is not about perfection (to me, anyway!)
- try to journal EVERY day, even on days when you "don't feel like it"--I promise promise pinky swear promise you'll be SO happy you did, and those are probably the days you need to journal the most anyway.
